How it came about
Sick of renting, we took the 20K we saved to move to New Zealand and decided to build a tiny house. In January 2015 we purchased a trailer and began our tiny house journey. We spent every weekend for a year carefully assembling our tiny house with new and recycled materials. We completed our build in December 2015 and have been happily living in it ever since! The Tiny House blog
After moving to New Zealand in 2014, we soon learned just how high rent prices could be in a city recently ravaged by an earthquake. We didn't see the point of leaving Boston only to continue to pay equivalent rent for poor quality housing. The tiny house movement seemed to be a solution around this situation and we started down the path of rent freedom as soon as we found a trailer.

Pat and Cori are two immigrants to New Zealand from the US (east coast and midwest). We slowly made our way from Boston to Christchurch (read all about it here: Eggs, Rice and Streaky Bacon! ). We constructed our tiny house in Christchurch and now live in Dunedin.
